You may have noticed the new From the Blogosphere widget on the sidebar, here’s what this is all about.

What is BlogRush?

BlogRush is a new service by John Reese (an Internet marketing guru—I hate the term guru this will be my first and last time using it) which is kind of like a MLM scheme for traffic building.

When I first heard “MLM” I was kind of suspicious too, and I’m pretty sure most of you are as well, but here’s the thing with BlogRush:

• It was launched just 3 days ago (14 September) and it already had a huge impact on the blogging community. It’s currently spreading like wildfire.
• I’d like to take my chance to be part of something big right from the start. And this definitely has the potential to be big. I would suggest that you register right away, and start referring other people before the community is saturated.
• It is basically a link exchange between blogs. You put some JavaScript code in your sidebar and you get a nice little widget that shows a list of recent posts from other blogs in the same category as your blog.
• For each pageview that you get on your blog, BlogRush will display a link to one of your articles on another blog.
• If someone registers on BlogRush using your referral link, you will also earn full credit for their pageviews up to the 10th level. Let me exemplify: if you get 100 pageviews today, and John registers using your link and gets 1000 pageviews today, your articles will be exposed on other blogs 1100 times.
• It brings you targeted traffic to your blog. Although not all 1100 impressions will result in a clickthrough, you have a pretty good chance that people clicking on the link are genuinely interested in what you have to say. I would like to see Programming or Web Development added to the list of categories though.

The system is still in beta stage right now, but some of the big blogging sites are already using it, so you may as well give it a try.
